Mozilla Booth setup on the 10th Anniversary Celebration of BNU !

To start with, on BNU's 10th Anniversary Celebration at Beaconhouse National University on 19th December 2013, the university had arranged some activities to show the culture and different concepts of BNU and among all these there we setup a Mozilla Booth among all other booths representing their departments and their respective fields.

This booth was setup by the core team of BNU Mozillians which includes the Mozilla Representative Huda Sarfraz , our Head of Department Shahzia Rizwan, and the active members from Mozilla Pakistan so far Asad Sajjad, Shahmir Khan and Mehmood Ali. The Booth was managed by me(Asad Sajjad).

The booth was placed to cover and provide all the basic information regarding Mozilla and to motivate people to join the Global Community of Mozilla. The booth timings were from 10am-5pm and it was 2 days setup. Students and faculty visited the booth and were very excited to know about Mozilla and they also wanted to contribute in Mozilla. The booth included of the following information:
1) Idea of Mozilla
2) Open source
3) Firefox
4) Nightly
5) Aurora
6) Firefox beta
7) Firefox OS
8) Mozilla Monument
9) Our(Asad, Shahmir and Mehmood) visit to usa(summit 2013)
10) Webmaker
11) Thunderbird
12) Persona

These were the topics on which we talked on the Mozilla Booth in detail. Most of them were interested in the Localization part as it is one of the easiest way to contribute but there were few who were not only interested in Localization but also in Add-ons(the coding part which includes HTML5 and Javascript).

The most Qs asked were
- What benefit will they get if they join Mozilla?
- When the Firefox OS will release in Pakistan?
- How they can contribute to Mozilla?

That day brought us with some well talented new Mozillans who are now very passionate about it and they also want to contribute as much as they can. Our one of the new Mozillian Zain has been joining us for the localization sessions after learning about it from the booth and now he is looking forward to contribute in other ways like add-ons and the army of awesome.
